Tullgarn Palace

Vagnhärad, Trosa

Tullgarn, close to Trosa in Sörmland – Södermanland – is one of Sweden’s most popular royal excursions. The royal summer palace, less than an hour’s journey by car from Stockholm, provides solace for body and soul. Behind the rather severe facade, visitors will be surprised by the light interiors, a blend of the rococo, Gustavian and Victorian styles.

Tullgarn is associated with King Gustaf V and Queen Victoria, who spent their summers here in the late 1800s and the early years of the 20th century. But the palace was a royal out-of-town residence as far back as the 1770s, when the state presented it to Duke Fredrik Adolf. Admire the Duke’s interiors, which rank among the finest in Sweden.

Rest a while in the courtyard and savour the fresh sea breeze. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the stables or the Orangery. Or unpack your picnic basket by one of the ponds. The fantastic palace grounds are ideal for picnics and games, and here you will also find the Slottsboden gift shop, café and inn. In other words, Tullgarn makes the perfect excursion for all the family!

Tullgarn is worth the journey – we look forward to seeing you!
