Tystberga, Nyköping

Welcome to Nynäs manor & Nature reserve!

The Nynäs Estate is located on the Swedish Baltic coast, about 80 kms south of the capital Stockholm. Nynäs Nature reserve is the largest of the Södermanland province, with 8070 Acres of swedish nature, culture and history to discover. In the neighbourhood you will find the charming, historic small towns Trosa (30 kms to the north) and Nyköping (30 kms to the south).

The manor house was built by the influential Gyllenstierna family in the late 17 century and is today considered to be one of the best preserved historical houses open to the public in Sweden. With original inventories from more than three centuries, a tour through the house gives the visitor a good idea of the "country home" life style of the swedish aristocracy from the late 1600s up to the early 20th century.

At the visitors Information centre, located in a whiteplastered 1800-century farmhouse close to the public parking, you can buy tickets to the tours, rent a bike, canoes or rowing boats (for a trip on the nearby lake).

During the summer season there are also various temporary exhibitions to be visited in the buildings of the Manor. Especielly appreciated by the younger ones is "Älskas...ätas" (To be Loved or Eaten) about our complex relation to pets and production of animals. Entrance is free.

Summer 2018 will offer several exhibitions and events.
