Gamla Oxelösund

Gamla Oxelösund (Old Oxelösund) is located between the ironworks and harbour. Here you’ll find many beautifully restored houses and a living archipelago environment with seaside buildings from the 17th century. There was also once a sconce positioned here. A stone’s throw away is an archipelago museum, Mästerlotsen conference room, and cultural trail which describes the origins of Oxelösund.

Follow the ‘Kulturstig’ sign and blue markings to find the right way.

Here you can also rent a row boat and row over to Furön where you can follow a delightful stretch of the Sörmlandsleden hiking trail.

Public transportation

By car: drive road 53 towards Oxelösund and then turn right at the roundabout. Follow this road straight ahead to Gamla Oxelösund. There is a large parking area on the left-hand side.
